Video Nasties definitive guides 1 & 2.

Never heard of Acolytes so thought I would give it a go (got the used one for £2.20 inc pp cos I'm a cheapass )

As for documentaries :

Ban The Sadist Videos is good although Video Nasties covers the same area. Not sure if it is still available - I got it as a bonus disc with House on Straw Hill blu. Think it was also part of the Box of the Banned uk dvd boxsets.

Going To Pieces - the rise fall and rise of the slasher movie
Crystal Lake Memories - The Complete Story of Friday the 13th (3 disc dvd)
Under The Scares - getting a low budget horror film made and distributed
Corman's World - Roger Corman doc
Never Sleep Again - nightmare on elm street story
King of the B Movies - Bill Zebub doc ( an acquired taste and definately not PC)
Godfather of Gore - Herchell Gordon Lewis
Ray Harryhausen Special Effects Titan is also good

more brains: the making of return of the living dead is a fun doc, it's available as a bonus disc on rotld blu, ironically i bought it seperately on dvd a few months before from the states but it came with a signed poster .

room 237 is worth a watch. It's theories about symbolism in the shining.

For some reason I decided to browse Currys website this morning and came away with one of these


Buy SONY BRAVIA KDL60W605 Smart 60" LED TV | Free Delivery | Currys


This will replace my 47" Samsung set in the front room as I've been wanting to go bigger for a while and this one has great reviews for picture quality.


The only downside is that its not built in 3d however having had a 3d TV for the past 2 years and only watched about 2 3d films in this time, that is something I can live without.

My mum has has the either the 40 or 50 inch of that at home and I have always thought the picture quality on it was very impressive when I have watched any Blu-Ray with it.
