Probably HMV. A few people (including myself) had theirs shipped before Arrow informed retailers of the disc error. The new release date might even be the 4th of next month.

The bloke in the sorting office was as bewildered as everyone else and couldn't understand why half a dozen individual packets which would easily fit through a letterbox were there in the first place.

The 2nd disc with extras in the limited edition is MIA and in its place is the 2nd disc from the Unlimited edition, which is a dvd copy of the film and some extras.

These things happen, good to see a quick recall.

Bought Forbidden zone from hmv via top cashback (5% back on purchases through HMV.) Not seen the movie but heard a lot about it, looking forward to it for sure!

Some nice pick ups there, mate. :thumb:

Although be warned: Machine Girl apparently looks awful on BD.

Also NBK is the theatrical version and not the superior (imo) director's cut. I think there is a US BD of the DC.

Meh...it doesn't look awful, per se. It just looks standard definition. I have both the BD and the DVD. The audio is better on the Blu.

That's good to know!

I don't own it, so only had the usual armchair-critic hearsay to go off.

Yes, and it's a stellar release – you won't believe how good it looks and sounds and I haven't yet gone through all the extra features or listened to the commentary. If it's a film you like, it should be near the top of your list.

artisturn 18th May 2012 08:21 PM

The Witchmaker (1969) $11.99

Was surprised to see this Code Red release in Hastings so I swooped it up.

I would buy more of their dvds if I were able to find them.

Hawkmonger 18th May 2012 08:22 PM

No DVD's/ BD's this week. Been binge drinking on Dredd Pre-orders.

Ordering direct from CR might be something worth considering then. ;)

Really? I hope it doesn't look that bad and the HD sound compensates for any visual shortcomings. Even so, the Digibook is really good.

pedromonkey 18th May 2012 11:33 PM

payday today and as i'm currently on a low budget action movie bender, ordered a ton a cheapo dvds...ordered some blu's as well.

DVDS

The Peacekeeper (Dolph Lundgre)
Art Of War (Wesley Snipes)
The Expert (Jeff Speakman)
Nightmare At Noon (George Kennedy)

*The First American Yakuza film is a beast of a flick, very underrated with an early role for Viggo Mortensen

Obviously this is the recent 'Doctor Who' release, not to be confused for a mis-spelt Bava demonic zombie film which has also recently been released

Yep it's the Jon Pertwee one. I was unaware it was even on DVD, great 2 disc edition.

As of February, 2012, here is a list of all the Dr Who releases

BAKA 19th May 2012 11:07 AM

This is around a months worth of stuff, so it's not really a lot all things considered. Saving for my holidays, and the typical onslaught of genre releases around October. The Prowler and The Intruder are titles I should have received from HME, but had to go elsewhere in the end because he's a conning scumbag .

Fantastic haul, BAKA. :thumb:

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 19th May 2012 11:16 AM

Really good purchases there, BAKA, which goes to show you can run a household, save for a holiday and buy quality releases of excellent films.
