I guess there is a market but when you can stream at better quality then the dvd for price of your netflix sub or whatever I find it odd people are still paying money for them. Horses for courses though!
i've never been one to get obsessed over pic and sound quality. As long as i can see and hear the film ok that'll do me . So i've never sat down and thought woah this film looks so much better on blu, if anything some blus of the old films spoil the fun as they highlight how bad the sets are. For example even though i am ordering grindhouse 's pieces blu i'll be keeping my cheapo boulevard etertainment dvd as it's scratches and blemishes add to the films atmosphere.

Well, some people prefer to own physical media (I'd never want to have my collection stored on a pc or tv), and as there are still lots of films that haven't made it to blu, and may never get a release, it's not odd at all. Got to remember that there are probably more people without a BD player than with. Heck, there are still lots of people who have no idea what a blu-ray even is.

Like I said with my recent purchases of Washing Machine and Crocodile I'm all up for DVDs when there's no alternative but not when there's remastered releases available or just proper 1080p presentation for modern films. If you gonna buy something to keep or collect (or play on a non-CRT telly) you may as well buy the best especially when there's next to nothing in price between the choice.

Oh there certainly is people never heard of HD but I those kind of people aren't posting photos on a forum. On that fandangled interwebs thing.

I never got into 24 but a quid for a 7 disc series is a bargain alright! Was quite chuffed with Curb Your Enthusiasm season 5 for a quid in cex the other week and that was a paltry three discs
