Yeah, when I use my Android tablet can't see how I coped with a laptop back in the day, instant start from standby as you say is a godsend, I don't think Windows is to blame it just seems still suited to hi-spec desktop use, when I'm on public Wi-Fi I hardly see any big laptops anymore it's all hardware more suited to a casual-easy-quicker experience like phones, tablets and Chromebooks, but it does seem funny that the idea of a cd/dvd drive built-in is now all but redundant compared to my first laptop which even had floppy-disc slot as well!!!
