Which of my opinions do you disagree with, or is it both of them?

Home Alone mainly. The first film is a wonderful feelgood Christmas treat with the second not far behind.

I do like The Polar Express, it sounds great in surround. Get your point about the animation but it doesn't bother me. It's one of the few animated films i've any time for.

The first two Home Alone film are great fun. I could watch Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern get heavy objects dropped on them about all day!
Only watched Polar Express once, can't remember it particularly well but it seemed ok, I get the point with the animation though, Beowulf is the same. I don't see much point in animating characters with the exact likeness of the actors voicing them.

I think I enjoyed Home Alone when I was younger, but watched it when I was in my late teens and hated it so haven't watched it since – it must be 15 years or more. Perhaps I needed a break and might catch it if and when it is on terrestrial TV this month.

As for the animation used in The Polar Express, I had exactly the same problem with A Christmas Carol, which I saw in 3-D at the cinema and only enjoyed the bits where you were 'flying' through the London streets.
