He's really struggling to get backing now though, so much so that apparently he's considering retiring from filmmaking and concentrating on his writing career. Both Cosmopolis and Maps To The Stars were financial flops. I loved the latter, it makes a fantastic double bill with Mulholland Drive.

A review on its Amazon page reads; "These are the best transfers by far. Enter the dragon is the 40th edition, no 4k remaster though. They truly are an amazing jump from all the other non 4k remastered versions, and I've had them all including the imported USA versions. They look stunning with no yellowish tint to my eyes on any of the Chinese ones. They also include Chinese audio.
Thanks- that's a good recommendation! Yeah, I'm not sure about the US versions. I'm sure I've read somewhere that the ones from Shout will be "even better", but I must admit, it's all getting a bit confusing!

I wouldn't worry, it's not a particularly nice steelbook, and I only bought it as it was the only available version, the new release has the original key art on the front so it's better in that respect.

I do tend to like the majority of Cronenberg's films. His last one to date, Maps to the Stars was excellent.

The only one i don't get on with is eXistenZ. I've never seen Fast Company or M.Butterfly so can't call on them but the rest i like.
I've not seen any of those yet Dem. I really like the Brood, it has a slightly gothic feel to it. Most of his films have a stark clinical approach.

haven't seen his last 2 films, but like everything else he done, his films are a required taste, and I also find (until he changed direction from horror) there to do with the body whether its transformation, mutilation, sexual orientation or something else,
I rank him as one of my all time fav directors.

Cruel Story of Youth is fantastic I hope you enjoy it. I think there is a Tony Rayns discussion on there as well which is enlightening as usual.
