Married with Children is a great series

Apparently Divine was booked to appear as a regular character on the show, but he died shortly before filming started and the role [Peggy's Uncle Otto] went to James 'Gypsy' Haake instead. The role was was supposed to feature Harris Glenn Milstead in a male role and, if memory serves, in the book 'Not Simply Divine', mention is made about how overjoyed he was, that someone had recognised him as a 'serious actor', and not just a drag performer

I have been watching it for the last couple of months and just coming up to season 8.

The episode in question is 'All In The Family' [the final one of the second series] and it carries the credit: "This episode is dedicated to the memory of Divine 1945-1988"

Did you see the documentary film I Am Divine? It's mentioned in that, it's really sad. He was actually in his hotel room in Hollywood learning the script for filming the next day when he died.
