It contains the fan edit, number 29. I didn;t realise it was a limited edition set... I should really read the blurb to things that I buy

*Oh, the blurb on the back of this set says it is a 'limited edition'. Does anyone know how limited/rare it actually is?

I like The Curse of Michael Myers and will be watching it again soon. Its as far away from Carpenter's vision as you can get but adds some occulty stuff and is pretty entertaining.

pretty sure the fulci boxset I bought contained number 6, 8 and 29. The box itself being number 28.

Number 7 is FLAVIA THE HERETIC.

Or am I missing something? :p

No - 'New York Ripper' ('Lo Squartatore Di New York') is certainly 07 (or possibly 01)!

The first release of NYR was number 01 and this was the version in the initial pressings of the Fulci Box. 01 NYR is now out of print and subsequent versions of the Fulci box have the Fan Edition of NYR which is number 28 (this being the version released at the same time as the bluray). I don't think the box set itself is actually that rare or limited since they seem to still be releasing them

Definitely number 29 (NEW YORK RIPPER fan edit) in my box :p... I bought the first release of NEW YORK RIPPER (non fan edition - number 1) separately after buying the FULCI BOX OF TERROR from amazon market place as I needed it to complete the collection.

Shameless #7 is def. FLAVIA THE HERETIC... check this thread:

Ahh that explains it!

Though the fan edit of NEW YORK RIPPER is #29 not 28, the fulci box itself is 28 :p (just to be pedantic, sorry)

Haha. I initially put #29 too but edited my post!

I do NOT have #29. It is certainly '#7 (or more likely #1 it seems)

Maybe I have got hold of one of the initial releases?

Yeah, sounds like you'll have the first release of the box set with the initial release of NYR (which is definitely #1 by the way). It has less extras than the Fan Edition (and I believe slightly different editing during the infamous nipple-slicing scene)

Sounds like it. Maybe you should keep hold of that box yeh. Though to be fair its not mega-rare (yet), the first release of NEW YORK RIPPER is going for ~£6 on amazon marketplace. When and if that's going for big bucks I guess your box set will be too!

Pete 3rd October 2012 10:14 PM

From what I remember the nipple slicing in first edition of NYR (which is deffo no 1 since it was their first release) is edited much better than the later release.

I've just realised that the Vipco DVD of The Burning I bought this morning is the cut version, I thought it was the full uncut one

Yeah, I just assumed I had the later one but with different artwork, oh well it was only £2, I'm sure I'll make more than that on ebay

Daemonia 4th October 2012 01:10 AM

Had this yesterday...

Arrow gets a lot of stick, but - hell- Demons looked incredible. I was shocked at how good it was. This is the way ALL cult films should be treated. Arrow, thank you. My best experience of this film - ever.

Jinx_Barkman 4th October 2012 03:04 AM

I went ahead and bought this for my essential Halloween marathon coming up later this month. I always try and watch at least one horror a day for the month of October to get me in the Halloween spirit.

My Halloween 2 & 3 blu's arrived from All my Music along with a nice £12 customs charge. I think I'll be ordering from movietyme in future and avoid the risk.

Ah that sucks. I ordered three items from them recently, the total of which will put it over the limit and it was too late to cancel it. I take it they arrived in one package?

I must admit I only saw this for the first time recently - but I really enjoyed it. It's fun and silly and I liked it. Might have to snag this Blu actually....

I saw that at the cinema, it's the only film by Dolph Lundgren I can't sit through, even though its not a patch on the cartoon, ahem no Prince Adam!

Hawkmonger 4th October 2012 11:22 AM

The cartoon? Even with all it's inuendo's?

There was a character called RamMan, that's all I can come up with

A giant, oily skinned man running about in a mishmash of BDSM costume's iosn't innuendo enough?
Just watch some scene's, i'm sure you'll spot them.

Yeah they were packaged together, ordered from them before and had no issue. Have a few more on the way so hoping they get through without a charge or I'll be back to movietyme full time!

oaxaca 4th October 2012 11:31 AM

Haha, I used to love the cartoon as well :D That and Thundercats were my two cartoon staples... I must have been very young and innocent as I don't remember any innuendos whatsoever; I doubt I knew what the word meant back then... Think I need to revisit the cartoon, it sounds hilarious!

darthelvis 4th October 2012 11:37 AM

Just ordered Scream Factory's Terror Train Blu Ray, can't bring myself to order The Funhouse again as I have the Arrow one.

Rik 4th October 2012 11:49 AM

Had myself a little trip over to Bradford this morning after the school run to see if there was anything worth buying from HMV, there was actually, but way too bloody expensive for my liking, even with my student discount. Ended up picking up Paranormal Activity 1 & 2(thanks to MTDS reminding me I hadn't got them on BD yet with his post in the film you've seen thread) and the remake of TCM for around £8 for all 3 from CEX, PA 2 is the triple play but with no digital copy.
And when I got home my replacement Cabin in the Woods BD had arrived so that is currently distracting me from college work!

Still no Universal Monsters coffin though :censored:

Those two cartoons and the Real Ghostbusters were my favourite TV shows as a kid, I had a shitload of the toys too :woot:

oaxaca 4th October 2012 12:23 PM

Traded some stuff in at cex earlier, hence the recent spate of buys... Here's a few more I've just (pre)ordered:

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

Death Race 2000 is currently £9.20 including shipping on amazon.de... Cheaper than the US Shout Factory release!
