I have Jet Pilot. It's a bit of a chore to be honest. John Wayne and Janet Leigh together though... so it stays in the collection.

The flying scenes are superb as well. Shot for the film, no stock footage here.

Fair dos. They had the Ghengis Khan film as well;) ....which is a laugh riot imo. The backstory always intrigued me etc ...

IBYT looks like porn btw

You should have bought The Conqueror, D. That's great.

Wayne as a Mongol war lord... what could be better? It's certainly funny.

Just ordered a blu-ray of Iron Maiden's Flight 666 for 14.50 pounds. Loved this band when I was a teenager and felt rather nostalgic. Watched some of it on Youtube and very much enjoyed myself (even my wife commented on how much the audience were really into it during Hallowed Be Thy Name). To be honest, not very interested in the documentary part of this release (watched a bit and it seemed rather boring imo). Will just watch the live footage option. The live footage does have each song from the setlist but each one is shot in a different venue or country. Sure, it's a gimmick but it seems like a fun one. There was a cheaper live Iron Maiden blu-ray but this one seemed far more appealing as the all tracks come from my era and my younger experience with the group. :)

You should watch the whole documentary with the songs as it gives you context about the audience. It's actually a really good film!

The problem I have with 'Flight 666' is that it gives away the mystery of the Eddie stage prop

Yes, I already knew how it was done, but actually seeing it on screen totally destroyed the magic for me - it would be like seeing behind the scenes of the guillotine or the gallows at an Alice show

Flight 666 is far from boring, I'd definitely give it a try

Talking of Iron Maiden, I watched City of the Dead for the 1st time, last night - loved it!

This weeks new arrivals.

The Borderlands, The Sleeping Room and Urban Ghost Story are discussed in Rigby's English Gothic book at some length, i'm pretty sure Frankie and Keirarts have raved about The Sleeping Room on here also.

I hope Urban Ghost Story is decent because the dvd is loaded with extras.

Sex Lives of the Potato Men is featured heavily in the book Keeping the British End Up. Simon Sheridan seems to like it.

I've never seen Gosford Park before but the combination of Altman and a pre Downton Fellowes intrigues me.

I've always wanted to see Let's Scare Jessica to Death so this Paramount licensed Italian disc seems like a no brainer for a fiver plus postage.

All except Jessica were Music Magpie 2 for £2 purchases.
