A few r1 treats for lunch today, all £1 each, Jaws looks nice for for a ntsc 2000 release, chuffed.

Why is it always me that gets damaged blu-ray/dvd covers and scratched steelbooks? I must've done something really bad in a past life!

One of those cheap, flimsy "recycle-friendly" boxes by any chance?

By coincidence my copy of MARKED FOR DEATH arrived in a similar state.

I wonder if mine will arrive today too, I had the dispatch email for 5 about 20 minutes before 4, but I assumed they'd be sent together

Neither of mine have arrived, but I did receive Tarzan, Pocahontas, The Fox and the Hound and The Muppets – all bought in the Disney BOGOF sale at Amazon.

The postie also delivered The Cabin in the Woods, which looks a bit incongruous with the four Disney BDs!

I've ended up with an extra copy of that, I had the original one arrive with a lenticular slipcase and the faulty disc, then a separate replacement disc and finally a brand new set without the slipcase, must've been some mix up from Sainsbury's

The original ones sent out had a fault where the disc froze around 11 times throughout the film

The BD's at my local HMV have a sticker on them 'Retrieve your BD at counter'. If they have them why don't they put them on display?

I would assume it's because originally Lionsgate sent out just the replacement disc on it's own, then sent out full sets with the new disc in, hence my extra copy

Mine doesn't have the slipcase, but I'm not that bothered. I just hope the disc is problem free.

Night of the bloody apes (latest release from Nucleus) arrived from Play.com its marked as the "first time uncut". But I seem to remember my previous copy of this, which I was given at a Fab Press event, was part of a withdrawn from sale release that was "accidentally" released uncut.

I remember that

Was it VIPCO who released a version of it in the late 90's/early 00's, which was from an uncut master, and had to be withdrawn from sale a few weeks later because it was 'not the correct version'?

I remember walking into a shop in Fareham at the time, picking it up, um-ing-and-ah-ing and then putting it back because I couldn't justify the expense of getting it!

Damn - curse me!!!!

Taken from melonfarmers:

The film was released in cinemas with around a minute of BBFC cuts in October 1974.
It was released uncut in January 1983 by Iver Film Services. By November 1983 it had been listed as a video nasty and suffered a successful prosecution. It remained on the list throughout the panic and so became one of the collectable DPP 39s.

In 1993 there was a mysterious uncut Vipco version. It was nominally slated as pre-cut but somehow got a limited unsanctioned uncut release. It was withdrawn within days.

In 1999 the video was released on the Satanica label, in a version that was obviously taken from Vipco's planned cut version (Vipco's logo remains). This time the distributor removed every single violent scene before submitting it to the censors.

The same heavily pre-cut version was released on 2002 DVD by Film 2000.

Passed 18 uncut with previous BBFC cuts waived and distributor cuts restored for the UK 2012 Nucleus DVD

Didn't think it was that long ago

Neither did I, I remember something being mentioned about it in the Dark Side at the time, in the Post Mortem section I believe

Saw it a while back and thought it was pretty decent, certainly worth snagging for a quid. I've been after a release of sorcerer for a while now (always putting it off in favour of other titles.) but for a quid there was no excuses!
