I was slightly underwhelmed by Birdman when I saw it at the cinema, probably because I didn't think it was as good as Boyhood (I still don't), which really deserved the Oscar for Best Picture that year.

Having watched it several times since, it strikes me much less as the 'style over substance' film I thought it was at the cinema and something which is brilliant, engaging, and extremely watchable.

You really need a camera that is capable of focusing, or you need to learn how to use the camera on your phone/tablet a bit better!

Tend to take the pics in my bedroom and lighting not so good even during day.
I'll take them in the Bathroom or kitchen next time or even maybe the living room

Get Out was a blind-buy but I've heard some good things so thought it was worth a punt for £6. Got the last copy in store with a slipcover too.
At 6 quid Get Out is a steal, such a good film.

Recent arrivals, the Criterion's are a mix of US releases from the February Flash Sale, and some UK ones from HMV's Criterion sale (paid for with a £50 voucher from HMV's Pure Rewards alongside Fascination). The cases for the Black House releases still irk the hell out of me, but I adore the covers. I'm looking forward to checking out The Devil Incarnate (I think I might flip the cover on that one ), a complete blind buy, I've seen very little Naschy. There's too much good stuff out at the moment. I have a big stack of arrivals this week I haven't even looked at.

This weeks new arrivals. All from Music Magpie. The first two pics were 'Buy two get two free' and the second two pics were 'Two for £2'. All blind buys. Nice that they sent me shrink wrapped copies of Oliver Twist and Quo Vadis.
