I was going to do that, but it's a weird kind of case. The only other cases I've seen like that for Blu-Ray's are the 88 Films Asian collection ones.

Just had a look at mine (which is still sealed  ) and it’s not a normal case, never noticed when I took it out of the packaging and put it on my shelf

He has offered a refund when I return the Blu-Ray. I assume I have to pay postage.

Just open an "item not as described" case. If the seller wants the item back then they will have to provide you with a prepaid postage label.

No. He should cover postage. The item was at the very least not as described. If he blames Royal mail point out he has the contract with them not you and he can claim back from them for goods damaged in transit.

Thanks so much for your advice, everyone! I really want this film :'( I looked for a similar case and I'm not paying nearly a tenner for one! I will open an "item not as described" case against him.

If you do return it and want it again I'll let you have mine for £8 inc postage. Just got to find it in the stacks

Cheapest price for replacement cases in the UK for the Criterion style can be found here for £1 plus postage. pH | Accessories

Personally i would ask for part refund to save sending the item back and maybe put the money refunded towards a new case.

That's what I'd do too, ask for £1.50 refund to replace the case, save yourself the hassle.
Although, if it was actually me I'd just forget about it and watch the film  I'm learning to let go of such things these days :)
