No, i didn't get a copy until a week and a half after it came out.

I saw it on release at the cinema, and also had it on ex-rental vhs.

I know it's a deeply flawed film but i quite like it despite all it's faults.

Not a film i was a fan of I prefer the original Burt Lancaster version even that had a few flaws in it, but you can't beat Marlon Brando though in his own style of acting.
