Love Kurt Russell as The King.He got to dress up as him again in the movie 3000 Miles To Graceland, with Kevin Costner and Christian Slater, and even gets to mime to the song Such A Night during the end credits. :D

Same here. I would rate this with The Buddy Holly Story as one of the best rock n' roll biopics. Excellent performances all round.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 1st June 2010 07:39 PM

Saw it in ASDA the other day mate, but put it back.....

Philleh 1st June 2010 07:44 PM

Ah, it's a good crack! Definately a modern cult classic. The whole idea of the film is really well realised, it's a little cliched in places but it adds some charm I though! :thumb:

Sam Neill is great too! :)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 1st June 2010 07:46 PM

I'll look into that buddy....

phelings 1st June 2010 07:55 PM

I got the US Blurays of Spartacus and the first X-Files movie.
Can't recommend Spartacus over the Criterion dvd as tinkering with the image has removed much of the detail that should be present.

The X-Files movie is awesome quality but why is it not out in the UK when the second one is?

Also got the 2 Bond films not out in the UK , Licence To Kill and Golden Gun - and they are just as top notch as the other Bond Blurays .

nekromantik 2nd June 2010 03:05 PM

Got Deaths of Ian Stone for £2 :)

Not the best of movies but Mike Vogel :tongue1:

Philleh 2nd June 2010 03:40 PM

Stephen is royally pissed off.Recieved my German dvd of 2001 Maniacs today, only to find that all it contains is a trailer, despite dvdcompare,Amazon and D&T saying it has quite a few special features. The back cover on D&T even lists all the features.I'm not a happy bunny! :mmph:

Philleh 2nd June 2010 05:24 PM

No, U.S. release,and it's confirmed region A.

Gojirosan 2nd June 2010 07:34 PM

This week I got Full Metal Jacket and a second hand No Country For Old Men, which turned out to be an American release when it arrived - thankfully Region 0 despite saying Region A on the cover!

Gojirosan 2nd June 2010 07:40 PM

Got Blu-Rays of Full Metal Jacket and No Coutry For Old Men.

My mate turned up with a present for me: the 6 DVD Sapphire And Steel set!!!! Very nice of him! Been wanting to see it again for ages, loved it as a kid.

Also recently bought The Nightmare Man, Brass Eye - Series and Special, Satan's Baby Doll and a 5 disk box set of History Channel serial killer documentaries.

Then today, whilst miserably trudging around a colossal Tesco, shopping for my girlfriend I found Castellari's Inglorious Bastards for £3! Which I wasn't expecting!

Stephen@Cult Labs 2nd June 2010 08:10 PM

What! How can you even joke by saying it's no great loss that you can't get the greatest movie ever made? :pound:
