I took advantage of the HMV 20% off sale this weekend and ordered me a few things, not much as I'm real tight for cash right now.

Carnivale: Series 2 DVD - £12.44
Alter Bridge: Live in Amsterdam BD - £11.99
The Notebook BD - £3.99 (Closet favourite, everyone needs a good cry every now and again, it's healthy) :rolleyes:

Great selection of BDs there -- I bet they cost you a pretty penny!

My Digibook of Se7en also arrived today but I have no idea where I get a chance to watch it as I now have a huge pile of unwatched discs and I don't know how to prioritise them.

Yeah, those Criterion Blus are fairly pricey! :nod:

As for your unwatched discs, you could always do what I used to do in times of gigantic unwatched piles: Go through the alphabet sequentially and pick a film from the corresponding letter to watch. It will really cut down the amount of films that qualify each time, making choosing a lot easier.

Last night I watched the Mill Creek blu of the spag western 4 DOLLARS FOR REVENGE and it wasn't bad. The transfer wasn't the best with lots scratches and scuffs on the image but considering how obscure the film is it's better than nothing.

I might watch the other film on the disc THE LAST GUN tonight.

However, I consider it a real gem and really enjoyed watching it. Why? For the same reason another person might dislike it - it's quite slow, it's quite moody, it's not too graphic. A spooky movie in the word's original sense; the emotions it provokes are similar to the feeling you get when you read a classic gothic short story by Edgar Allan Poe - at least that's the way I see it. The movie has some nice scares, though. But they are of that kind that gently makes your skin crawl - and I must admit that I love that feeling. I also get it from some of the Hammer Studio flicks as well as from some classics of the black and white era: notably The Old Dark House (1932) . :)

Just ordered two Discs myself today - although I do not know yet whether they belong to a horror movie collector's visual library or not:

- Mountain of the Cannibal God (1978)
- Torso (1974)

It sounds like a film that will be right up my street so I've put it at the top of my Lovefilm rental queue. As a big fan of The Old Dark House, I'm almost certain to love it.
