It's been ages since I last saw The Devil's Rejects but figured I can't really go wrong at that price.

The last ten minutes of Rejects has the best music to film sequence i have ever seen*.

Skynyrd's Freebird fits the final bullet strewn car journey amazingly well.

* certainly the one that sticks in my mind from the last 20 years .

I can actually remember that bit but, as for 'the best music to film sequence' goes, I'd have to vote for either The Pixies' Where Is My Mind? for the ending sequence in Fight Club or Layla (Piano Exit) from Goodfellas.

Mind you, it's hard to listen to Singin' in the Rain without thinking of A Clockwork Orange and The Blue Danube without immediately picturing a scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey -- Kubrick really was the master of using music and ensuring his films 'owned' it.

The end sequence in Rejects is top notch but even higher up as far scenes set to music go, is Michael Mann's use of Iron Butterfly's In A Gadda Da Vida in Manhunter.

Good call -- that is a suitably creepy and extremely suspenseful scene mostly because of the pounding music.

Surely The Simpsons used it better when Rev Lovejoy played it in church. He called the band I RON BUTTERFLY.

These arrived today!

Over the holiday weekend I went on a Kubrick marathon, which all look superb on BD.Especially THE SHINING!

I'll need to get the US disc for the longer cut,and it's a pity it wasn't an option to play either.

Barry Lyndon had me catching a few zzz's.The first 90mins was great but the second half took some doing. The only time I've ever felt that watching a Kubrick film.
He really was the master.

Nothing we ain't seen a 100 times before.
Disappointing somewhat,for a director of Darabont's cv....

I didn't realise the US Apocalypse Now BD was released so soon -- does it look the part? I wonder how it differs from the UK release.
