Bad news about the cover for Scanners. Have to give it a miss I'm afraid.

Well, look what the cat dragged in over the last few days.

I) I ordered a box set with these four oldies solely because of The Walking Dead - a fantastic flick and an outstanding performance of Karloff!

II) It was about time - after having watched the trailer of Two Thousand Maniacs!, I was sure that it should be part of my collection. :tongue1:

III) Finally, this heavily mixed assortment.

Greetings!

PS: To improve the visual diversity of this thread, I thought switching from texts or DVD/Blu-ray artworks to original artwork was a good idea. Feel free to comment!

Nice artwork selection although it would help if you mentioned somewhere which version you bought. I'd like to know which was the box set you bought with The Walking Dead -- I'm guessing R1?

Is it only standard DTS, not DTS-HD Master Audio?

In terms of 'What have you seen and can you recommend it?' The answer is, with links to the reviews:

Ice Cold in Alex and

The Cruel Sea

It states DTS HD 5.1 on the back.

You're right, Nos. Here you have a short list of the versions I will be busy watching over the next few days.

- Blood Feast / Two Thousand Maniacs! / Color Me Blood Red are from: "The Blood Trilogy" - Something Weird 2000. 3 discs, Region free.

- His Kind of Woman: Odeon 2011. Region free.

- Bloodbath at the House of Death: Nucleus 2008. Region free.

- A Blade In The Dark: Blue Underground 2007. Region free.

- Hitch-Hike: Blue Underground 2010. Region free.

- Return of the Evil Dead: Blue Underground 2005. R1.

- Mark of the Devil: Blue Underground 2004. R1.

Thanks for the info. I own a couple of those already and have several more on order but will be looking to buy that Karloff & Lugosi set.

Good -- it would be a shame if it only came with standard def sound. I really wish The Assassination of Jesse James... had either Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 as well as the Dolby Digital 5.1 track it came with.

I've been away and came back to a pile of discs, plus some e-mails to say certain things (Witchfinder General among others) had been dispatched, which was nice.

The Momentum release of Red Hill is good. Nice to see Steve "Goose" Bisley in an Ozploitation film again.
