The Bird with the Crystal Plumage Arrow BD dropped through the letter box this morning.

Not had a chance to watch it yet, mind you I've not watched my Blue Underground BD of Bird yet either & I've had that ages.

The Dark Knight returns is being shot fully with Imax :)

I agree about the IMAX stuff(when the sea-plane lands I whizzed back couple of times to see it again:)) but... Gotta say there is a bit of the old "edge" bits going on here and there, but love the depth and crisp detail. So we'll agree to disagree on overall p.q. (And a fully IMAXed sequel should be stunning). In your opinion 'nekro' what's your best Blu for p.q.

Just received these... :woot:

Le Château des morts vivants aka Il Castello dei morti vivi aka Castle of the Living Dead (1964) (Artus)
Darktown Strutters (1975) (Le chat qui fume)

And...
Machete Maidens Unleashed! (2010) + The Muthers (1976) 2-disc set (Umbrella)

The two French dvds are both English friendly btw,Castle and Darktown both have English audio and optional French subs.
Really curious about the pic quality of Darktown Strutters,I already know Castle of the Living Dead looks stunning. ;)

Can't wait to check these all out!

Sadly not nekro. That was Nolan's intention I believe but it just wasn't logistically possible for a number of reasons, one being the sheer loudness of the cameras I think. Some of it still is being shot in IMAX though, and a lot more than was for The Dark Knight so all is not lost

A bit sad that as the IMAX scenes easily top the 35mm stuff, the night truck/van chase is breath taking.

In terms of picture quality, I've yet to see a BD that is better than Baraka, which is outstanding AV experience and it's a brilliant film to boot.

I not seen that and dont really have any intention to as not my kinda movie. but I have heard very good things about its PQ.

Have you seen Star Trek reboot blu?

nekromantik 15th June 2011 11:00 PM

just bought Underworld Blu Trilogy from Amazon US for £20.
Its is £7 more then the UK set but the first 2 UK discs are meant to be very bad in PQ. The I seen the UK Underworld disc and it basicly is a up scale of the DVD.
