I've just had a shipping confirmation e-mail from Zavvi to say my Scarface cigar box has been sent. I can't wait to see (and watch) that bad boy!

If you have a "THE WORKS" book and gift shop near, pop in because normally their DVDs are pretty lame... but just scooped up these in a 2 for £5 deal so £10 the lot, all single discs but newer versions w/features. All of em replace my freeview/dvdr versions, happy with that shopping trip:), they had other stuff like GREMLINS, RIO BRAVO, DIRTY DOZEN, GOONIES, KELLY'S HEROES etc.

P.S. the p.q. on NBNW and JOSIE WALES is fantastic to my eyes

I've just treated myself to The Big Lebowski "limited edition" and the Apocalypse Now set. I've also bought the 4 DVD Apocalypse Now set for my mate as a birthday present!

Mine arrived on Tuesday from Amazon, but I wasn't in. :(

The two trips I made to my local sorting office have also been in vain, as it appears to have not arrived back with them yet. I'm hoping it will be a case of 'third time lucky' tomorrow!

I bought the steelcase blu ray of SCARFACE some time ago - great blu ray but as I mentioned before the sd intro has subs instead of the normal description for the stuff about the Cuban refugees
maybe its a mistake by Universal - a bad one, but I have looked for reviews but they don't go on about the sd just the blu ray

Sod it, I went and ordered the ABUS BD anyway, as the newer release hasn't got any extras at all!! Also ordered a couple of others too...

Region locked I'm afraid. Can't be 100% sure but it looks like a better transfer.

Bare bones too. Not even a trailer. Poor show Universal of Australia (was hopeful Universal might have a different print than Sony/Columbia Tristar, but alas, no).

But it was cheap though. Cost £11.90 shipped from down under.

Looks and sounds nice (True-HD 2.0 only). I'll give it a proper spin at the weekend.

Ah, well. Let's see if the UK version is any better.

Edit : But it is region free, so our American friends can pick this up.

Glad I never ordered it.Shame on Universal right enough.
