Watched the UK BD of the original Psycho - it looked amazing.

Quality blew me away, anamorphic or not,and the deleted scenes of the original trilogy are amazing!

Whatever the merits of Lucas and his digital fiddling, the picture quality is amazing on these transfers. Looking at internet reviews I think anything less than full marks for video quality is pretty much down to reviewer / fan irritation with the fiddling and not the presentations themselves. These are great discs and to be honest they are Lucas properties, not public domain so it is up to him what he does with them. They are entertainment, nothing more and for people to get so upset over an update is pretty surprising.

I was upset in '97 and '04. Sure, he can do whatever he wants to them, but the more he tinkers, the more people will avoid them like the plague.

I haven't seen the deleted scenes yet so one question. Are you sure these are old scenes or newly constructed?:tongue1:

I think it may be a bit of a generational thing too. The original trilogy hold a place in the older viewer's hearts that they don't do in the younger generation. My son's 12 and he likes New Hope and Empire best but when I showed him the original versions he was appalled at the "rubber" cantina patrons, rubber Yoda:shocked: and wobbly matt work. I wonder what the reaction is going to be the planned 3D reissues Lucas has in the pipeline?

Upset at Planet Axels price increase, I just bought
Attachment 20902
from CDWow for £13.99 shipped (PA total came to £15.52)

Now CDwow have sent me two £1 vouchers, so I just ordered two more from my PA wish list using these vouchers.

Attachment 20904
for £11.49 (PA - £13.75)

and

Attachment 20903
for £9.99 (PA - £13.75)

Shame PA decided to increase their prices by so much. Had it been 50p here or there, I'd have stuck with them.
