I was more posting out of nervousness. I had never used DVDworldUSA before so I was just hopping for the best. There price's are very competative.

I picked this up on my way home from work on Thursday evening (it was only 12.99 in Saturn). I also picked up The Expendables. I have been on a bit of an 80's action film roll recently - part of my buildup for Expendables 2. Currently waiting for Combat Shock, The Assualt and Elfie Hopkins to arrive from Play.com. Seems to take forever for them to ship to Germany Assault and Combat Shock arrived today. Hooray! Put in Assault first - really gripping edge of your seat true life story of the storming of a hijacked Airbus A300 by the French anti-terrorist police in the early 1990's. Recommended. Ordered the following: First two are favorites of mine, blind-buying The Man With the Severed Head.

I finally bought an original DVD of one of my favourite films. With the UK release out of print and stupidly priced now, I took a chance at the Korean release. It's not bad. Quality is on a par with channel 4's broadcasts. Seems to be from a video master (U-matic? 1 inch?) possibly with some standards conversion. Detail is good, but blacks are a little milky. I saw this several times at the cinema, and it's really not too bad a version in comparison, though it is like watching a video tape. And for £8 one cannot complain. And the film is almost perfect. It's be nice if the BFI/FilmFour put out a Blu-Ray though. |
