Two very good films and one absolute classic (In the Line of Fire). Nice purchases, J.

I've only seen Sherlock Holmes. And that only the once in the cinema. Most people seem to consider Lone Ranger a bit rubbish?

They do i agree, but i really enjoyed it. It has some tremendous set pieces.

In The Line Of Fire is an all time favourite of mine. It has no flaws.

Two new arrivals.

88 Films Eskimo Nell has a new BFI transfer which has had a bit of flack on blu review sites. However it will look better than the old Showbox release on dvd. Maybe and i've said this before, maybe some films shouldn't be put on blu if the film elements aren't there, just for the sake of it.

Or maybe people should realize exactly what it is they are buying and a cheap British quickie (ahem) will never look the same as a bigger budget production.

Those who moan and groan about the print should borrow my old Mountain video and then try and complain about it.

I really enjoyed both the Guy Ritchie Sherlock Holmes films, buying the first one recently from Music Magpie for £2. In the Line of Fire is a brilliant movie, which I first saw on VHS in 1995 or '96. I have only seen The Lone Ranger once, and thought it was bloated, self-indulgent rubbish.
J Harker and Deadite like this.

I'm not so keen on the second Sherlock movie Game of Shadows, it was there too but I opted for In the Line of Fire.
