Byzantium is a great film

I also like Let Me In, but I think I’m in the minority with that one though.

I really liked Byzantium when i saw it although i still think Company of wolves is his best horror film.

Let me in is directed by the bloke who did Cloverfield and the last two new Planet of the apes films so it is well made and directed, it just didn't have the same emotional impact as the original for me.

This just arrived, £11.50 off eBay. I already have the Arrow LE, but wanted this version too so I was happy to get it for that price

Took advantage of a trip to Brighton to visit HMV.

Went for the £14.99 blu's so works out about £7.50 each with the current deal.

Last films bought prior to that was about a month ago when got this for about £7 with postage from ebay.

I'm not a huge fan of these types of films anymore but felt for that price it was worth picking up as they are a piece of exploitation history.

Bought a new Hannibal Lecter blu-ray collection off ebay for 8 pounds (from Zoom). I'm after the corrected version of Ridley Scott's Hannibal - my old blu-ray is vertically stretched with info missing from the top.

It's quite annoying once you've had it pointed out to you (I must confess that I didn't notice at first). Apparently Universal did a silent fix and supposedly this collection has that version - I bloomin' well hope so anyway or that's 8 quid down the drain!

I'll also take the time to revisit Brett Ratner's Red Dragon. I love Manhunter and recall Red Dragon being massively inferior but I'll certainly give it a fresh viewing. Hopefully my opinion will have changed over the years.

Was reading further about this and discovered that older collection sets also contained a mis-framed Hannibal. It's actually only the newer pressings that have a corrected blu-ray so it's a complete lottery as to what you'll receive. I've chickened out and asked Zoom to cancel my ebay order. There's 3 possible outcomes:

- Order is cancelled.
- I receive a corrected set. (yay!)
- I receive a faulty set. (argh!)
