I compared them and thought the standard Blu-ray Disc had a really impressive picture, but the colours don't seem as rich or the fine detail as clear as on its 4K counterpart. It isn't a 4K release which has the same visual 'wow' factor as Guardians of the Galaxy 2, John Wick, Planet Earth II or the first Blade Runner as they are demo discs but, in terms of the blacks, clarity, and detail, it's one I'm glad I have on 4K Ultra HD.
Perhaps I'm being way too harsh. I should also say that I haven't yet watched any of my UHD discs in their entirety - I've just looked at snippets. Thursday this week is my wife and I's next shared day off so we'll properly get to watch one. Probably Batman Begins as I would first like to watch my en-route Blade Runner UHD before rewatching Blade Runner 2049.

A 4K UHD of the first Ghostbusters film arrived today.

My wife and I just finished watching it - our first choice as we both love the film. It's a big upgrade over the 4K mastered blu-ray version and (after I felt a bit disappointed with the upgrade of Blade Runner 2049) has re-affirmed my appreciation of this latest format.

I thought it looked pretty amazing. Obviously there's only so much you can do with the source material but there were huge improvements when watching in pure 2160p with hdr. The colours and visual effects look incredibly better (especially the library ghost and the proton pack streams).

It was nice to appreciate numerous improved moments. Examples are how Egon's headworn flashlight is genuinely blinding in hdr or noticing the improved colour and fuzziness detail of Venkman's jumper when Ray brings the car to the Ghostbusters HQ. In short, Ghostbusters 1 is a sizeable upgrade in 4K format.

Very happy with my purchase. Surely the best I've seen the film since being ten years old.

This just turned up from WowHD, it was £11.00 in their Paramount sale earlier this month.
