The UHD is very much English friendly but if anyone picks it up, make sure to manually disable subtitles with remote otherwise you get an Italian translation of the opening Poe quote.

It actually has a 30 minute extra on the UHD - the MGM 30 minute making of from the old dvds - obviously in standard definition but it's a nice inclusion. Pleased with this, wife and I will watch on Monday.
How come you didn't bother with the recent SC edition with it'multitude of extras, booklets and posters. Is this release better?

The hdr version of the film (which is what my fairly inexpensive 4K television supports) has some errors on the SC version - it's when Father Malone hands over the cross. The cross momentarily dims instead of glowing constantly. Also there's a shot with really bad compression where you can noticeably see blocky shapes in the image. The Italians have fixed those errors on their hdr version making it the better choice for me. The SC also has a dolby vision version on their 4K disc which apparently doesn't suffer from those errors, but as my television isn't dolby vision capable, that's not much good to me.

Remember when just watching the film on vhs or at the cinema was the thing? Print quality wasn't a problem, as long as you could see & hear the film.

It's great that we have all these upgrades but seriously, the film itself is most important & if it's any good. Which the Fog is btw, my new fave JC movie!

From a 2nd hand shop in Japan, as you can imagine it's all in pristine condition, around £25 for both.
