I bloody well loved The Goonies when I was a kid! I also loved it when I was a teenager, as well as in my twenties and in my thirties. In fact I still love it! I also loved the C64 computer game adaption when I was a kid.

Same thing with The Lost Boys.

I don't detest it as such. But I've never enjoyed it, even as a kid I found the kids irritating.

Now The Lost Boys on the other hand, that's a classic piece of cinema.

Don't think Dem was ever a kid, seemed to bypass that stupid ****around mid point before becoming a teenager and being a moody moocher.

Both Goonies and Lost Boys, while not the best films ever are goofy fun, hanging out with idiot friends, that mid age where being an adventurer or vampire slayer sounds like a blast and serious life choice.
Pretty sure Dem was born in a suit and tie.

No, the first film i ever rented on vhs was Scanners.

I was ten.

Once you get to watch Scanners as a kid you don't then regress to being a four year old and watch a bunch of Corey's arsing about. You rent Alien, Dirty Harry, The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, the F13 series...

So yes in a way i missed all those films because i was watching movies made for adults.

You have to remember i was 14 when The Goonies came out at the cinema. Probably 16 by the time it reached the local rental shops. Why would it interest me when there was football, beer, girls and music that were beginning to take over also.

My parents split up at the age of 10, was 1984, I went to my mums and used to rent out films, the first films i rented were Halloween 2, Conan the Barbarian, The Howling etc, didn't stop me being a kid at heart, just meant I was digging on a lot of groovy shit.
