Don't get me wrong, he's made some truly excellent films, however most (particularly Seven Samurai) are nowhere near the 'seminal masterpieces' that most would have you believe - I actually find a lot of them to be a little dull and overly-melodramatic to the point where they start to grate on you. Still, most are 'solid' films from an objective and technical standpoint though.

High and Low is a favourite Kurosawa of mine, and one that I would take over his samurai epics any day. I'm probably in the minority on that.

I think Blade Runner is overrated,
I have only ever seen one Dario Argento film (Inferno)
I gravitate towards straight to DVD films rather the big budget films
Never seen LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK,
I prefer Van Damme over Stallone,
I don't like DAY OF THE DEAD (1985) that much.
Wes Anderson films bore me.
Never watched GAME OF THRONES
I buy Blu Ray's, but never get chance to watch them
Hate BLAIR WITCH PROJECT
I want Arnie to go Straight To DVD - then it might bring them some class
I didn't really like Season 3 of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

Still trying to work out why anyone would dis Ingrid Bergman
Ingmar surely???
As he is boring and black and white etc.

Never mind the fact that most of his work is terrifying beyond most "horror"

Have never
Seen Dirty Dancing/Footloose/Flashdance/Transformers et al

Was restrained in order to watch Top Gun, which I declaimed as homoerotic propaganda within the first 30 seconds

Jesus Franco was the last true surrealist.

Still laughing at the Fulci comment. Ignorance is bliss etc.

I've only ever seen The Wicker Man ('73) once, and I didn't like it. Suspiria and The Beyond are hugely overrated. I'd much rather watch Saturday Night Fever and Rocky than any of Scorsese's 70s output. Nekromantik is rubbish.

As opposed to all that heterosexual propaganda Hollywood churns out? (Actually given the fact that I really quite fancy Tom Cruise - not the sort of thing a married father of three is supposed to say out loud but this is the confessions thread - I'm surprised I've never seen this.)

Jesus Franco is indeed a real surreal artist. I've been watching Kiss Me Monster for three nights now and still haven't a scooby what it's about.

Other confessions:
I like the Brady Bunch Movie (a lot).
I can't stand Speilberg's films.
I really don't like the Indiana Jones films.
Looked at objectively Star Wars is just not very good - I'd prefer to watch Starcrash any day. (Come to that I'd watch anything with Caroline Munro in it over Star Wars .)
I've never seen La Strada, Bicycle Thieves, Roshomon, or The Seven Samuri..
Grease is utter crap - apart from Stockard Channing's panties. I'd watch anything with Stockard Channing in.
I think Janeane Garofalo is hot. Uma Thurman isn't. The Truth About Cats and Dogs was a very baffling experience.
I can't stand Quentin Tarrentino and have never seen any of his films.
I liked Hudson Hawke - well... I didn't hate it.
I own copies of all of Richard Driscoll's films.

Did you mean to, or was it just how your day turned out?
