"Wilbur wants to kill himself" is a great Scottish movie. Dark comedy mixed with human drama, and is truly touching. Mads Mikkelsen in the film an plays Wilbur's doctor. The external scenes are filmed in Glasgow and shows a lot of the city including the Necropolis and the Kelvingrove art gallery. The bookshop where the main characters live is actually a pet shop in the Saltmarket. I went into the pet shop one day and asked about the film, they told me the filmmakers painted the outside of the shop for the external scenes, but that the internal scenes were actually filmed in a real book shop in Belgium.

Charlie Sheen wouldn't last 10 minutes in a pub in 'Glesga's' eastend!

Never seen this one Almar-looks interesting!

I remember the newspapers being filled with Sheen's crazy antics while he was filming that one in Glasgow.

Yes many fine tales came out of the making of that movie. It was just such a surreal production to be taking place in Glasgow. You pop out to rent Nemesis and lo and behold the director of it is making Charlie Sheen run across George Square. Random!

Not a great film but a must-see curio for 'wegies,

I know where I'm Going literally changed my life. because of it I now live in Scotland.

If we want to widen the scope of this thread to include Films made in Scotland to avoid, I'd like to nominate Highlander and Highlander 2

and Being Human - and not just because I'm in it.
