Default Favourite Characters

Quietish day at work today,so I picked up the August ed of Empire and flicked through the top 100 character list.
I was pretty taken aback by some of the names absent from the list.
Here's their top ten.

Top Ten Greatest Movie Characters:

1. Indiana Jones

2. James Bond

3. Star Wars' Han Solo

4. Batman

5. Alien's Ellen Ripley

6. The Joker

7. Die Hard's John McClane

8. Fight Club's Tyler Durden

9. Star Wars' Darth Vader

10. The Big Lebowski's The Dude

There was no Teddy Duchamp,Chris Chambers,Gordy Lachance or Vern.

No Chunk,Mouth or Sloth!

No Leon or Norman Stansfield.

No Laurie Strode.

No Lord Summerisle,no Sgt Howie.

No Jack Torrance.

No Max Rockatansky.

No Alex De Large or Sgt Hartman.

No Annie Wilkes.

No Michael Carrington/Cool Rider or Johnny Van Owen

Did any of you read it and was there any glaring ommissions you felt were left out?

Empire has been off the boil for ages, sadly. Combination of the dumbing down of mainstream cinema and the magazine's pursuit of articles for huge films that are months, sometimes years away from release. Total Film is the same. It's such a shame because both used to be great and I'd read them cover to cover. I've subscribed to both for years and have read them both since issue 1 and 2, respectively. They get a cursory glance through now and not much else. Prefer to spend the time reading books instead.

Agreed.
I used to keep all my Empire's and TF's (Have BOXES of them stashed at work).
Now I recycle them!

Starburst,SFX and Darkside are my main reads now.

Anyone read that SCREAM horror mag on sale in HMV?

Not up to much IMO...

Anyway-which characters on here like which characters on film?
