Few wet days last week meant i couldn't work and i very nearly put Apocalypse Now on, ended up picking The Wild Bunch instead though.

How strict is the term 'war'?

I mean, does it only refer to men in silly uniforms, running around holding pop-guns with the intention of killing the other team, or does it refer to films that feature ANY kind of conflict e.g SWAT team Vs. zombies ('Dawn Of The Dead') or the old favourite: television crew Vs. cannibals ('Cannibal Holocaust')

I've tried to stick to pure 'war' films here. I've avoided Battle of algiers because its more resistance fighting/terrorism rather than outright warfare...

Personally I think you should be as creative as you can without bending the rules, so Dawn of the Dead for example is NOT a war movie, plus it's been in about 20 lists already since we started this thing, and 100% NOT Cannibal movies lol.

I have to admit that War films take the form of a large black hole in my film watching, in as much as I ain't seen that many! It's never really been a genre that has appealed to me, however there are certainly some films I can already think of that I enjoy so not a totally daunting task.

I may need to be slightly creative with this one, however I'm actually finding the more difficult topics the most fun and also the ones that generally encourage the most conversation, which is a good thing.

Oh, and by 'creative' I don't mean Cannibal Holocaust and Dawn of the Dead!
