I also strongly suggest those who haven't seen "The Nest" prioritise it fantastic, gory, fun film and makes my #1!

1. The Nest
2. Slugs
3. The Fly (1986) (I know slightly cheated) but it is an Incest...erm insect and it does try to dissolve John Getz!

4. Kingdom of the Spiders
5. Monkey Shines
6. Long Weekend (1978)
6. Black Sheep
7. Mosquito
8. Night of the creeps (Alien Slugs)
9. Arachnophobia
10. White dog.

Brief Reasons

The Nest - I simply love the film and is my most "rewatched" insect horror and scream factory disc

Slugs - Slugs was one of the first ever horror VHS mum naughtily brought me when I was 12 from a long gone specialist shop. so it holds nostalgic memories for me,despite the acting being atrocious it has great gore and is a fun ride!

The Fly - I doubt I need to say much here, amazing film which shocked me and fascinated me when I first saw it age 12 recorded off TV.

Kingdom of The Spiders - Creepy, shocking nightmarish funfest that can be rewatched and never bores.

Monkey Shones - Sadly underrated and under-seen Romero film. Original stylish and gripping.

Long weekend - As many of you know only too well anything "Aussie" holds a place in my heart. This film is original and has a powerful message the fact it only has 2 cast + a dog and still manages not to dull is impressive.

Black Sheep - Original and amusing a headbutt more than a nod to Bad Taste.

Mosquito - Silly but great fun. The synapse Blu Ray looks stunning then again we all Know with Don it wouldn't be anything less. R.I.P Gunnar

Night of The Creeps - Silly, fun and Tom Atkins what more can you ask for?

Arachnophobia - In my personal opinion not as shocking as Kingdom of the spiders but still a creepy experience particularly for a PG. Always good rewatch value.

White Dog - A Story with a powerful undertone, great acting and original ideas.

P.S look forward to the "werewolf" top ten, despite that being a much tougher list to comprise.

Rick

The 2008 remake isn't bad either.

It doesn't go OTT like it could have done thankfully. It's directed by Jamie Blanks of Urban Legend and Storm Warning.

Obviously check out the original first and if you like it wait a while then give the remake a go.

No real order as such. The first ten that came to mind so presumably the ones that stuck with me most..
