1. The Wicker Tree (2010)
2. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
4. Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
5. Hostel: Part II (2007)
6. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989)
7. Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999)
8. Scream 3 (2000)
9. Vampires: Los Meurtos (2002)
10. Friday the 13th: Part 2 (1981)

A slightly unfair list really as aside from the mainstream horror franchises I haven't actually seen that many horror sequels... the enthusiasm on my part to actually check many of them out is severely lacking.

A lot of love for Nightmare on Elm Street there

I have come close to picking up the woman a few times but gave it a miss for some reason I might pick it up after work if CEX have it.

You'd perhaps be advised to watch Offspring first.

Quite honestly if The Wicker Tree is the worst horror sequel you've ever seen then there really is something wrong. Either that or you really weren't lying about the lack of sequel viewing on your part.

Speaking as someone who loves The Wicker Man very much, I thought Tree took everything that was great about the film and pretty much pissed all over it. If it was a stand-alone film in its own right without giving the sly nudge to the original, I perhaps wouldn't think of it so poorly.

Well finally sorted my list out, in each case i've only chosen one sequel from each series.:pop2:

Top ten (no particular order)

Hellbound - Hellraiser 2
Phantasm 2
Evil Dead 2
Nightmare On Elm Street 3
Inferno
Return Of The Living Dead 3
Day Of The Dead
Damien - Omen 2
This Night Ill Posses Your Corpse
Psycho 2

And here's my second ten that nearly made it.

Bride Of Re-Animator
Poltergeist 2
Amityville 2- The Possession
Dracula - Prince Of Darkness
Bride Of Frankenstein
Return Of The Blind Dead
Halloween 2 (Pleasance one)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Friday the 13th part 4
Rec 2

Was tempted to try and sneak in the first Return of the living dead seeing as it links itself to Night of the living dead.
Also did think of choosing Vault of horror seeing as it's practically a sequel to Tales from the crypt.;)

It's a less entertaining film than any of those that Eye fella listed. Yes, even The Wicker Tree.
