There's nothing wrong with mainstream; all of those films are superb and on my long lists.

I agree. I mean with Noir you want the likes of Bogart and Mitchum as well as dames to kill for like Bacall and Hayworth.

Only started watching these last year, but these are some of the one's I have on blu-ray so far..

Suspicion 1941. Shadow of A Doubt 1943. Laura 1944.
Murder My Sweet 1944. Fallen Angel 1945.
Mildred Pierce 1945.
Scarlet Street 1945.
Notorious 1946.
The Postman Always Rings Twice 1946.
Out of The Past 1947.

Got the Arrow noir box set on my wish list as well.

Is Scarlet Street any good, Crimson Blade?

It's an Edward G film i've not seen.

I strongly recommend you watch some Coen brothers films - Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing, Fargo, Barton Fink, The Man Who Wasn't There.

I'm sure you'd love them.

I’ve seen a few of their other films (Raising Arizona, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Tho? etc) and really like them, so I’m sure I’ll like these too, they’re on the “to watch list”
