It's an Edward G film i've not seen.

It's well worth watching.

Edward G. Robinson is a mild mannered cashier who get's involved with a scheming femme fatale, played by Suspiria's Joan Bennet. He doesn't realise that her and her boyfriend are just using him as a sucker so they can steal from him.

I really enjoyed it. And the Kino release is excellent and region free.

It's from the same Library of Congress source as the Kino dvd but has a better transfer according to dvdcompare.

The Big Lebowski is definitely a neo-noir as it has all the elements of a classic film noir but in a contemporary setting, so you can add it to your list!

I'm now looking at buying that release or alternatively the Film Noir: Five Classics From the Studio Vaults set which contains it and for others, only one of which (They Made Me a Fugitive) I've seen.

I don't think I'll be including any Neo-Noir in my list (Chinatown may creep in though...) as the term is used way too broadly in my opinion.
