It is, but Hannibal Lecter is a main character, is nicknamed 'Hannibal the Cannibal', and the film ends with a strong suggestion of cannibalism. Hannibal (Ridley Scott, 2000) is a bit more graphic in its portrayal of cannibalism than Jonathan Demme's Oscar winner and a really good film.

I did enjoy Silence of the lambs, it is a good movie as well as Hannibal, Red Dragon I wasn't keen on, but I did forget how Silence of the lambs ended until you reminded me that he was going to have someone for lunch while in the phone to Clarice.

Seriously? Is it a cannibal film? I've not seen it but assumed it was just a bunch of old dears in a diner.
