THE BEST FILMS THAT YOU WOULD HAPPILY NEVER WATCH AGAIN I tried to list these films in order of how good I consider them, not how likely I am to watch them again, but found it so difficult that I had put them in alphabetical order and only way to include all the films I wanted was to do it as two separate lists of 10. I think all the films below are at least very good, if not masterpieces, and own at least half of them on DVD or BD. Despite that, I would not be upset if I didn't see any of them again! Tier 1
Tier 2

I had to spend some time on this. I've tried to come up with a list of films that were critically lauded but I find myself with no desire to return to..... Not for extreme content or anything like that (forced entry would be number one in that case) just films that left me totally cold. enmglish patient.jpg moonlight.jpg TitanicPosterGb200511-1.jpg gone with the wind.jpg singing in the rain.jpg lawrence.jpg et.jpg amelie_a-G-8032615-0.jpg schindler.jpg in the mood for.jpg |

Interesting to see The English Patient on your list. It's a film which I consider to be extremely well made but also incredibly dull. I completely understand why it was so popular with critics and those responsible for industry awards, but it is a film I would put into the "great films you'd happily never see again" category. I would say the same with Titanic, but I have big issues with the pacing, acting, and writing, so it wouldn't make my list of "best films" in the first place. That said, I do own both of these films!

Brief Encounter (blub blub blub etc) Philosophy Of A Knife ( just under 4 hours of "experiments" ....can't wait for the BD ) Prevenge (beastie!!) Madhouse (1974) (beasties!!) Next Tuesday will be Christmas Day and most people will, if they haven't already, be looking for the perfect Christmas films to watch over the next week. For this week's topic, could you picture a scenario where someone wants a list of films they should watch over the next seven days (including Christmas Day) and come up with a definitive list of the 10 films you consider essential viewing over the festive period? ESSENTIAL CHRISTMAS FILMS This was tougher than I thought and, with three films based on his classic book, really shows the impact of Charles Dickens on shaping what most of the Western world think of as Christmas.
