To be honest, I associate it more with Jackie Brown than Across 110th Street, but it was written for the latter blaxploitation classic.

Like you say, it is a great song and shows how many fantastic theme songs were vying for places that it didn't make my top 10.

Thanks to everyone for your varied and interesting lists of film theme songs. When I thought of it as a topic, I had no idea how many great pieces of music were written specifically for films and how difficult it would be to create a list of only 10.

This week's topic is similar to one from a few weeks ago where I asked you to list your favourite film titles. From posters saying 'You'll believe a man can fly' to asking 'Who will survive and what will be left of them?', taglines have been used to sell a film with a short, snappy sentence or two conveying humour, romance, terror, or mystery.

With that in mind, could you please come with a list of your favourite top 10 movie taglines?

I get the feeling there will be a lot of repetition here, so here's my submission.

I'll post others i think of over the course of the week!
