My thanks to those who contributed a list of their favourite films based on children's books and/or horror films from 1973. The topic for this week combines two different exploitation sub-genres. If you feel able to make a list for each one, that's great, but a combined list would be just as interesting. NAZISPLOITATION & NUNSPLOITATION |

For me the film doesn't actually get better than the opening scenes in Iraq. I think they are outstanding and really set the religious and mythological tone of the film. The rest, although brilliantly conceived, is almost played out for shock value.

I find the most shocking seems to be those in the hospitals, with Regan undergoing medical tests shot documentary-style. I love the relationship between Lt Kinderman and Father Karras, the investigation each one undertakes (criminal behaviour and demonic possession, respectively), and the frustration, helplessness, and love displayed by Chris MacNeil.

I've only seen those two films the single time each. Enjoyed them both as well.

Okay, I'll admit to thinking this was a reasonably easy topic, especially with the two combined, but I'll have a look and, with a more general topic as well.
