Demons and the Devil.

The Devil Rides Out (1968)*
Night of the Demon (1957)
The Ninth Gate (1999)
Prince of Darkness (1987)
The Exorcist (1973)
Pumpkinhead (1988)
The Exorcist III (1990)
Needful Things (1993)
The Prophecy (1995)
Häxan (1922)

This was torture. Somehow i had to leave out Faust (1926) i realise it's better film than say The Prophecy but these lists aren't about the best, they are our personal faves. I also toyed with Storm of the Century (1999) but left it out due to it being a mini series rather than a feature film.

You should definitely seek both out, even if it's only on dvd to give them a watch.

Both films have excellent casts and are worth watching purely for that.

Needful Things stars Max von Sydow, Ed Harris, Bonnie Bedelia, J.T. Walsh and Amanda Plummer.

Plummer is also in The Prophecy alongside Christopher Walken, Elias Koteas, Virginia Madsen, Eric Stoltz and Viggo Mortensen as Lucifer.

Noted, thanks. Are the Prophecy sequels any good? There's a five film box set which looks good value for money if the films are worth buying.

The only ones worth watching are the first three. Christopher Walken stars in all three. I always think he's worth watching. The first film is the only essential one if that's the right word although II and III have their merits.

The other two are, well i've only seen the fifth one which stars Kari Wuhrer and Jason Scott Lee and i wouldn't recommend it, but if the box set is cheap then why not.

I do believe The Prophecy had something of a chequered past?
Originally called In God's Name I think ...
Some carry-on with the producers?
Hmmm.
