My thanks to MrBarlow and keirarts for their lists of school-set horror films.

As it will be Christmas Eve this time next week, it makes sense to have a festive theme for this week's topic. It would be great if you could rank them in order of preference.

After a quick google search of Christmas Horror Movies, I think I've only seen 5 and one of them I didn't even like. It's not one of my go-to genres.

However, I did watch the 1984 A Christmas Carol with George C Scott as Scrooge last night and that was terrifying!

If the Christmas horror film category is going to leave out from this week or you would like to do a second list, then have a think about the horror films released 36 years ago.

Great list, Dem!

I completely forgot Lust for a Vampire was set in a school! I really rate The Awakening and have seen it several times.

Thank you.

I completely forgot about the topic until you posted the latest one up. There were actually quite a few to choose from for this topic. You could almost do on made up solely of slasher films.

Top 10 Christmas Horror Films

Sint (2010)
Don't Open Till Christmas (1984)
Gremlins (1984)
Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)
Silent Night (2012)
Santa's Slay (2005)
Rare Exports (2010)
Wind Chill (2007)
Better Watch Out (2016)*
Tales From the Crypt: And All Through the House (1972)

I was thinking about Dead of Night (1945) but decided against it seeing as only one story is set at Christmas during a children's party. I decided to go with Tales From the Crypt instead. Whilst only one section of that Amicus anthology is set at Christmas it is by far the best part of the film. Tales From the Crypt is a better film than some of the others i've listed but it comes in at number ten purely because only a portion of the film is set at Christmas.
