Like 'Cannibal Holocaust', 'Birth Of A Nation' is an extremely powerful and masterful piece of manipulative film-making

As much as I hate myself for saying this, I actually found myself cheering on the KKK as I was watching it

Back in the 1910 and 20's, it was actually used as a recruitment film for the KKK and I can understand how people would have been suckered in to it

Birth of a Nation is an exceptionally well-made film and, like you, can see why it would have been an influential and persuasive tool.

Nah it wasn't any of them, think it was from early 90s era, when I have woken up a bit more it may come to me

All that sprung to my mind were Exit Humanity (Civil War zombie film narrated by Brian Cox) and Army of Frankensteins.

Top Ten Films featuring the American Civil War.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
Glory (1989)
Major Dundee (1965)*
The Beguiled (1971)
Shenandoah (1965)
Gettysburg (1993)
The Horse Soldiers (1959)
The Undefeated (1969)
Alvarez Kelly (1966)

I really enjoyed The Beguiled remake and Gods and Generals but have only seen them once so they don't make the list. Same goes for Dances with Wolves and Gone With the Wind.

It was under a different title The Killing Box. Knew I'd remember it eventually

It's not as bad as it sounds but the actors make it entertaining, maybe not one to watch over and over again.
