Seeing as so many of you sneak in tv to these movie lists i almost did 9 Doctor Who base under siege stories and the Blakes-7 episode Powerplay as my top 10.

Interesting subject, I only have 2 genuine 'horror' films though!

  • Cape Fear (1991)
  • A Clockwork Orange (1971)
  • The Edukators (2004)
  • Funny Games (1997)
  • The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992)
  • Home Alone (1990)
  • Panic Room (2002)
  • The People Under the Stairs (1991)
  • The Purge (2013)
  • Single White Female (1992)

I know what you mean, Justin. I recall enjoying films like Single White Female and The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, but i haven't seen them since the days of vhs rental. They are far scarier affairs than many of the horrors i've seen listed under the subject, but as i haven't seen them in what must be 20 years it's difficult to chart them in my opinion.

Poison Ivy starring Drew Barrymore, that was a good one, though not an invasion in the strictest sense as she was invited. I do have a box set of those films.

Is that the Spanish one where everyone dies in the last two minutes?

So many chances to escape it became daft, but still largely enjoyable.

I loved Poison Ivy as well, i'd be interested in watching that again, I've not seen it since I was in 6th form, maybe like 1993-94!

The Collector

Fight for your Life

Black Christmas (not a home I know but invasion of a sorority "house")

Lady Stay Dead

Eyes of a Stranger

The Guest

The Guardian

Unlawful Entry

Halloween (1978)

Little Girl Who Lives down the Lane.
Interesting list Gold.

I thought of The Guest myself but seeing as he was invited to live with the family it didn't seem like an invasion. The same goes for Elia Kazan'z excellent The Visitors.

Halloween? How so?

The sequels starring Alyssa Milano and Jaime Pressly were also good. They didn't have the same inhibitions as Drew.

yes, a lot better than most recent home invasion films. Really works on the big screen.
