While i like it I'd never consider it a favourite in general. But within the ff genre...

Not a lot happens, true. However the point i made about standing in the woods listening is moot. Nothing happens in that situation either, except how your own mind perceives what you hear or see and creates a possible situation.

TBWP to me plays on this perception to the max. Other films have attempted it but none have been as successful or even come close.

I honestly think it's a film where you get out of it what you put in yourself. So however much you wish to invest will decide your enjoyment factor.

According to Mark Kermode last Friday, The Witch is a similar sort of film in this respect.

For the record i also like Book of Shadows, Blair Witch 2.

I agree. I have seen it a few times though so i think it must be a bit of a favourite.

That can happen with even the best films i find.

For example. I love Raiders of the Lost Ark, but i never come close to that original thrill of seeing it at the cinema for the first time. Not in the slightest.

While i obviously know what you mean, BWP was i think dependant on its gimic. There's not a lot of depth there for future viewings.

I've seen it twice, and I had 15 years between the 2 viewings I think I enjoyed it both times but I think if I watched it again this October with only a year from my last viewing I wouldn't think it as good.

Noroi aka The Curse (2005) I recommend this highly, if sadly hard to find cough!!
Legend Of Boggy Creek (more of a Mockumentary, but still...)
CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST (surely every list will have this??)
G String Horror (haunted nightclub...go figure)
TBWP
Paranormal Activity (with police ending cough)
Cloverfield
The Last Horror Movie
L&DOAPG (still a better film than Srpski)

I think that you And I are the only two members on here that rate Book of Shadows. I can remember a thread a few years ago about just his crap it was with only the two of us defending it.

We'll stick together and defeat all the naysayers.
