That's an interesting perspective. I really like Dances with Wolves, but couldn't get on with The Postman, so there is a fair chance I will find Waterworld at least tolerable.

As with most war films – that's a fair point.

Thanks for the information; I'll try and find the time at some point this week.

It's that bit when the guy on the deck goes flying through the air and whacks himself on the funnel on the way to the sea That and the old couple hugging each other as the ship sinks

The guy hitting the propeller and the funnel (as well as Kate Winslet's assets) were the only hi-lights for me when I watched the drawn out saga unfold in front of me at the cinema on release.

Yeah don't go thinking Waterworld is anything, anything like The Postman Nos. If nothing else Waterworld is just genuinely entertaining, wherehas The Postman was dull on every level.
And as for war films and horror, i don't consider Schindlers List a horror film, but its one of the scariest films ever made.

Me neither. I have seen it several times, and actually own it (I own every film which has won the Best Picture Oscar), and seems to get worse with every viewing as the poor writing (particularly the dialogue), overacting (Hello, Billy Zane), overreliance on CGI, and uninvolving framing story become more noticeable.

I am actually quite interested in the voyage, and sinking, of the Titanic, so found this animated film to be haunting and tragic as it showed how many lives were lost when lifeboats were launched when barely half full.
