I quite like it but don't think any of their psychological thrillers come close to their horror output. In fact they always come across as poor mans versions of major studio productions such as Vertigo or Experiment in Terror.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and many thanks for your lists of favourite Christmas and (non-Dracula, Frankenstein and Mummy) Hammer films.

I thought it would be an idea to see what sort of films people like where the subject is filmmaking, whether it concentrates on something in the studio, filming on location, a writer working on the screenplay, the music being scored or the sound effects and dubbing being created after the rest of the film is 'in the can'.

Interesting list. I haven't seen Starry Eyes, but I'm guessing it's something you would highly recommend!

I've just made a long list which will be whittled down because it currently contains 35 films!

It's quite well thought of round the Labs. Quite a few liked it including B_E and Frankie if i'm not mistaken.

You mention the words 'highly recommend?' Well Eskimo Nell and I Want Candy were two similar films in a way, neither could be considered that good in truth but i like them

I have heard nothing but great things about Starry Eyes. I would love to see it.
