I need to rewatch some of the trashier titles to be able to complete this top ten.

I used to watch them quite a bit in the 00's but now they've all blended into one.

I know one of the Shark Attack films is better than the others same goes for the Octopus series and i've completely forgotten which of the Open Water / Reef type films are any good.

I'll be careful. I watched a bunch of those crap modern(ish) day ones last year. They all sucked aside from Planet of the Sharks which was pretty decent.

The Shark Attack and Octopus series have a higher level of competence than the modern CGI shit fests.

KILLER FISH FILMS
  1. Jaws
  2. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
  3. Creature from the Black Lagoon
  4. Rogue
  5. Open Water
  6. Piranha (1976)
  7. Black Water
  8. The Shallows
  9. Humanoids from the Deep (1980)
  10. Deep Blue Sea

I had The Shape of Water second on my list for a while before realising the 'Amphibian Man' only kills one person – and that's in self defence – so didn't think it counts.

Killer Fish Films

Jaws (1975)
The Shallows (2016)
Lake Placid (1999)
Deep Blue Sea (1999)
The Meg (2018)
Piranha 3DD (2012)*
Rogue (2007)
Crocodile (2000)

Much as i like Humanoids From the Deep and Creature from the Black Lagoon, Reptillicus and so on, they aren't killer fish movies. They are all man made horrors / monsters, so to speak rather than something real living beneath the surface.

Unless you really think there are Humanoids from the Deep. In which case i'd get help.
