Thank you to everyone who contributed a list of their favourite body horror films.

The topic for this week will be a very subjective one and will hopefully lead to many varied and different lists.

I hope we can all agree that the best place to watch any film is in a cinema with well-behaved clientele, a big screen, and decent sound. Whether you prefer to watch a film with people who sit in silence or those who laugh and jump when you do will probably factor into what you will list here as it might be you'd love to be transported back to the fleapits of 42nd Street or to a premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square.

I am lucky enough to have seen quite a few of my favourite films at the cinema, but there are many others which I haven't, and wish I had seen when they were first released or would do everything I could to get to the cinema if they were re-released this week.

FILMS YOU WOULD LOVE TO SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN

Films i'd Love to see on a Big Screen

I'd love to sample the atmosphere of an old American drive-in cinema so for this i think George Lucas' American Graffiti. Or going down the horror route at the same drive-in i'll say Zombie Flesh Eaters.

There are one or two old favourites i've not seen in a cinema. Casablanca for one. I also think The Wolf Man (1941) would look great on a big screen as would Hammer efforts like Horror of Dracula, The Devil Rides Out and Taste the Blood of Dracula.

For sheer spectacle then something like Easy Rider or The Searchers for their photography of America, then perhaps Ben Hur* (1959) - I feel it would be quite special to see something filmed in 2.76:1 on a proper big screen.

That was a great way of doing your list, Demdike, and similar to what I had in mind when I was describing the subject in my post.

There are different places and locations for different films, so I'd love to be in that first queue to watch Psycho when no one knew the twist, something completely different from seeing something like Zombie Flesh Eaters in a fleapit with a mix of bemused drug addicts and hardcore horror fans, being a young child in 1964 and being swept up in the magic of Mary Poppins, or watching Battleship Potemkin in 1925 Soviet cinema and being caught up in revolutionary fervour.

It will take a lot of thought!

You can make a case for seeing so many films in so many places i guess.

I'm fortunate that i've actually seen the likes of Jaws, Psycho, Pulp Fiction, Withnail and I, North by North West, Natural Born Killers, Crash, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Interview With the Vampire, Star Wars, Empire, Jedi, Warlords of Atlantis, Star Trek the Motion Picture, The Black Hole, True Lies,True Romance, Reservoir Dogs, Saving Private Ryan, The The Red Line, Braveheart, The Truman Show, Terminator 2 etc on the big screen.
