Thanks to everyone who contributed a list of their favourite desert-set films.

The topic for this week is devoted to a prolific director, producer, and writer, whose name appears in the credits for hundreds of films.

Born in 1951, Charles Band is one of the great names in the horror, fantasy, and science fiction genres, particularly as the head of Full Moon Features and Empire Pictures. As long as his name is on the credits, that film is eligible for inclusion in your list.

Thanks to all who contributed a list of their favourite Charles Band films. I think my initial post was a little misleading as it featured a film – Re-Animator – which involved his company, but his name doesn't appear in the credits!

The topic for this week is quite broad, with films in contention ranging from silent films to those directed by Jean Rollin all the way to the 'new French extremity'.

Empire Pictures, who made Re-Animator were a company formed by Charles Band so in effect it's one of his films, name in the credits or not.

True, but I said "As long as his name is on the credits, that film is eligible for inclusion in your list", so when I searched the DVD Profiler of films I own with Charles Band in the crew, Re-Animator didn't appear. Because he wasn't one of the producers, executive producers, writers or directors, it isn't on my list.

Which definitely begs the question of why you used a GIF from it when you opened the topic.
