Your 2016 in Film
 

Much like the thread started last year by SShaw, as we're now well past the first quarter of 2016, here is the place to discuss the year in film as it pertains to you; whether that takes the form of what you've seen from 2016 / what you plan to see, 'new to you' films from any year in the cinematic calendar, or just an excuse to post lots of lists (ahem... :o).

So... at the time of writing this I've managed to watch 216 films (I think a personal record... at least since I've started logging them on Letterboxd anyhow). I haven't been 'trying' to watch more either, it's just the way things have gone so far this year in terms of my free viewing time.

Of the aforementioned 216 films 174 have been new to me, which I've ranked here.

As per my comments in the 2015 thread, I rarely keep up with new releases so am a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to the current year's cinematic offerings. I've seen zero films from 2016 as yet and only 9 films from 2015 at the time of writing this.

My most anticipated film of the year at present is easily The Witch. All hail Black Phillip!

The Invitation is one of my favourite movies i saw on the festival circuit last year. Not sure if or when it is getting a cinema release in the UK but it is now available on demand.

Despite your average rating, TrashHouse looks interesting.

It's a Pat Higgins film. He who made Hell Bride and Nazi Zombie Death Tales.

It's very ambitious but the budget means it's sadly lacking.

Yeah, the general concept behind it was good, but the ultra-low budget CGI ruined it for me!

Incidently, I've got Nazi Zombie Death Tales still sealed on my shelf, I bought it from Poundland ages ago and haven't got round to watching it yet
