What Films Have You Seen the Most?

Being film-buffs and all, we probably watch the same films multiple times. I know more than a few people who quite literally don't understand this - "Why do you want to watch something you've already seen?"

Lots and lots of reasons - enjoyment obviously, picking out content you have missed on previous viewings, noting the technical aspects of the film, listening to commentaries, loads of reasons.

I used to have what i'd call 'comfort films'. Movies that i'm so familiar with that i know pretty much every line and one that i'd put on when i couldn't decide on something else.

So, what films do you think you've seen the most times?

If i were to hazard a guess, i'd probably say Evil Dead II, The 13th Warrior, and Mystery Men.

hi all, the film/films I've most likely seen the most are, in no order

the evil dead
the burning
Friday 13th,original

and yes, I have to agree, I also know what's going to be said next, what happens next and I do pick up on things that I have missed before.

Dem did an interesting Top Ten Tuesday related to this a while ago, and for me, it is definitely more the films I watched (and consistently) re-watched as a youngster that would qualify as my most watched films.

My top 10 for posterity was:

4. The Dark Crystal (1982)
5. Krull (1983)
6. Masters of the Universe (1987)
7. Superman II (1980)
8. The Fool of the World and the Flying Ship (1990)
9. The Rescuers (1977)
10. Jaws: The Revenge (1987)

I suppose this could also double as a 'childhood favourites' list too!

Top 10 Most Watched Films in my Collection.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Where Eagles Dare (1968)
Star Wars (1977)
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Batman Returns (1992)
The Great Escape (1963)
Casablanca (1942)
In the Line of Fire (1993)
Halloween (1978)
The Magnificent Seven (1960)

Raiders was the very first video we bought. £25 on Beta from WH Smith in Preston.

These films have also been watched more times than i can remember.

Land of the Dead (2005)
Dracula (1958)
The Thin Man (1934)
Trick 'r Treat (2007)
The Longest Day (1962)
Speed (1994)
Clerks (1994)
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Midnight Run (1988)
Withnail And I (1987)
Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Jaws (1975)

All aside from Land of the Dead and Trick r' Treat made the transition from vhs to dvd pretty quickly. The Thin Man aside which i only discovered thanks to Uncut DVD magazine in the early 00'S. Some even made the transition from Beta to vhs as well.

Thanks for the thread plug, b_e. ;)

The films I've watched the most times are ones that have resonated something deep inside me and are as comfortable as an old pair of slippers after a hard days work. I can watch any of these films at a drop of a hat and frequently do.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Perfection.
The Exorcist. Perhaps the most influential horror film ever.
Cannibal Holocaust. The Daddy.
Natural Born Killers. Just connects with me. I quote dialogue from this all the time.
Dawn of the Dead. Best. Zombie. Film.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show...... it's a guilty pleasure, okay? Whaaaat???
The Evil Dead. Who doesn't love this?
Reservoir Dogs. Tarantino's blistering debut.
Enter the Dragon. Bruce's finest moment.
